Watermelon Radish - Store for Winter - Seeds
Latin name: Raphanus sativus
The watermelon radish (also known as Chinese Red Meat) is the perfect candidate for extending your harvest season and enjoying the fruit of your labour during the winter. The watermelon radish can be stored for a very long time, and will soon be your go-to ingredient for adding some fresh garden punch to your culinary creations during the winter.
This magnificent radish always amazes children (and adults alike). Its has a mild and delicately sweet flavour. Slice thinly in salads or cook in gratin. Also great in pickles (lacto-fermented).
We recommend peeling, as this variety is thick-skinned.
The roots can reach up to 10 cm in diameter.
Sow very early in spring (early summer harvest) and/or in mid-late July for a fall harvest (and to store for the winter).

Malgré qu'il soit long à pousser, je l'adore. Il est délicieux et sa peau dure l'aide à résister aux petits vers quu sortent avec la chaleur. Il prend beaucoup de place au jardin comparé à ses semblables et il faut le récolter très gros.
