Soap Products

Health Canada

All our soap and cosmetic products are reported to Health Canada and have a cosmetic number.

Ingredients List

In accordance with  Canadian requirements (governed by Health Canada), all our cosmetic products are labeled following the International Nomenclature for Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI) system of ingredient labelling. INCI is  mandatory for any manufacturer of conventional or artisanal cosmetics in Canada. It is used worldwide as a multinational, multilingual language so that the names of ingredients are universally recognized, making it possible to avoid confusion of various trade names (even improvised or inadequate ones).

Considering that this universal list is standardized and is legally mandatory, the size of our products does not allow us to add a second list in French and even less a third list in English.

However, you can consult the list of ingredients in English under the 'ingredients' tab of each of our products on our online store.

Can’t find ingredients listed in the same way on other cosmetic products?  The product does not comply with Health Canada regulatory requirements and may not be legally declared.

Please consult the link for more information about labeling ingredients in accordance with INCI nomenclature set out in the Cosmetic Regulations pursuant to the Food and Drugs Act RSC (1985), c. F-27.

Colour, fragrance and shape

As we manufacture all our products by hand and work with natural raw materials, the appearance of our products may vary slightly from batch to batch.

The shape of a product (e.g. soap) may vary slightly depending on the artisan who worked on the batch. The colour or fragrance can also vary depending on the raw materials used (e.g. vegetable butter, fresh or dried plants, essential oils or fragrances) and the natural variations of plants (e.g.: concentration of pigments, differences in their fragrance, etc.).

Seeds

All of our seeds are open pollinated. We do not sell any hybrids or GMOs. Learn more about our seeds and our mission as a seed company.

We test the germination rate of our seeds annually to ensure quality at the time of sale.

Our commitment to the quality of our seeds applies exclusively to the year of their purchase and is reliant on  the client using appropriate growing methods recommended in the section Growing Instruction section of each product listing.

Since seeds are living things, germination and cultivation success depends on too many external factors beyond our control and that have no relation to the quality of the seeds themselves.

Our quality guarantee in no way constitutes a guarantee of harvest, germination, productivity or yield.

The recommendations, advice, instructions and references regarding cultivation, and the number of days to germinate or mature are based on our plant hardiness zone (3b to 4) and are provided for information purposes only.

In order to preserve quality and maintain germination rates for as long as possible, we recommend that you store your seeds in a cool place, such as the bottom of the refrigerator in an airtight container. To stay at their bests, seeds need to be stored in a cool, dry place away from anything that might make them germinate (heat, humidity, light).

Seeds can stay in your mailbox for a few days without altering their germination potential. However, temperature variations over longer periods should be avoided.

For best results, please refer to growing cultivation instructions for each product, read our blog articles (available in French only), consult our sowing calendar  (in French only) and take note of our terms of sale .

If you have any questions, please contact us by email. If your question concerns the germination, we will need the following information in order to help you effectively:

Order number

Product name

Date sown

Sowing temperature (day and night temperature in the room)

Seed depth

Type of soil used

Type of container used

A photo (if possible)
