Reine des Glaces Lettuce - Seeds
Latin name: Lactuca sativa
The Reine des Glaces (also known as the Ice Queen) lettuce is a relatively rare heirloom variety. This lettuce resists very well to the cold as its name suggests! It grows particularly well in cool climates and in winter greenhouses. Of the Batavia Iceberg type, its semi-tight head is topped with serrated and very crunchy leaves. The Reine des Glaces can also be cultivated in summer as it is slow to bolt. In America, its origins date back to the 1700s!
