Marine di Chioggia Squash - Seeds
Latin name: Cucurbita maxima
The Marine di Chioggia is a rare heirloom variety from the coastal region of Chioggia, Italy. The squash has a beautiful, thick, grey-blue bumpy skin and sweet, yellow-orange flesh that improves with age. Stores well at 12-15C°.
Excellent flavour and texture, it has my seal of approval and is the favourite of many of my friends. Makes an excellent soup using just Marina di Chioggia, a little broth, garlic, onions and coconut milk... but I can't guarantee you'll have any leftovers!
