Lovage - Seeds
Latin name: Levisticum officinale
Looking to become more self-sufficient?
Lovage, is a perennial herb with a distinct celery-like flavour. It can be used fresh or dried. An ideal addition to herbes salées (herbs preserved in salt) and also great for dehydrating and adding to soups, dips and stews year-round. Lovage adds a distinct "garden" flavour to any dish. The whole plant is edible, from root to seed.
Very hardy in Quebec. Lovage was long ago adopted by our ancestors for its flavour and ease of cultivation. Reaching up to 2 m in height, it is a must-grow for the herb garden. It is also very decorative.
Lovage is a great plant to add to the garden and take yet another step to becoming more self-sufficient.
Once established, growing it is effortless. Once mature, the plant is generous, you can easily supply neighbours and friends!
