Ballerina Tomato - Seeds

$4.95

Latin name: Lycopersicon esculentum 'Ballerina'

Who said that growing large Italian tomatoes in the Lower-Saint-Lawrence climate without a greenhouse was impossible? Me, among others, before discovering this rare variety from Russia. The 'Ballerina' is really well adapted to cool climates and crack resistant. The fruit harvested in the summer of 2014 were enormous despite my increased neglect as a new mom. I have been won over! The only problem for me was that the fruit is almost seedless… So when you produce seeds for a living, it's a little less nice because it takes a lot of tomatoes to produce a batch of seeds!

It is a delicious tomato for making sauce as well as for eating fresh. Its flesh is not grainy like some other Italian varieties. It is therefore a versatile tomato to have in small vegetable gardens. Determinate.
