Here is the Lac St-Jean gourgane. The traditional legume that makes up the famous Lac gourgane soup!
They are eaten in soups, in various hot dishes, in warm salads or simply as an accompaniment with a little butter and a pinch of sea salt.
Beans grow well in moist soil and should be sown as early as possible in May. The soil should be moist but well drained. Harvest when the beans appear to be swollen.
